UPDATE Belmont: 21-Year-Old Male Shot, One Person Arrested
Police said a young man has been shot in the Belmont section of the Bronx near 663 Crescent Avenue and is likely to survive. However, the address was for a nearby tax business and on arrival in Belmont, Norwood News saw that police had cordoned off a section of nearby Cambreleng Avenue at the intersection of East 187th Street outside Nashley Barbershop, located at 2400 Cambreleng Avenue.

U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Jay Clayton announced Friday, April 3, that Alieu Jarjou, 31, a/k/a “Scally,” a/k/a “Lu Scally,” pled guilty the same day before U.S. District Judge Edgardo Ramos to his criminal activities as a member of the “Rollin 20s” set of the Crips gang, including the March 2021 murder of Jadon Robinson in the Soundview section of The Bronx.
Bronxites Show Up for Three “No Kings” Rallies Held Across the Borough on 3rd Nationwide “No Kings” Day
On a cold and blustery day on Saturday, March 28, 2026, several hundred Bronxites packed Lou Gehrig Plaza in the Concourse section of The Bronx, across the street from Bronx Borough Hall at East 161st Street and the Grand Concourse, to be part of history. Organizers of the nationwide “No Kings” movement said at least 8 million people turned out across the country at more than 3,300 locations for a third national protest the same day.
