Each pregnancy is unique, and all pregnant people deserve the best chance of three healthy trimesters and a safe, fulfilling delivery. Unfortunately, a serious pregnancy complication called preeclampsia threatens this hope for many families. Preeclampsia causes dangerously high blood pressure and can damage the kidneys or liver. When it goes undetected or untreated, it can lead to preterm birth (baby being born before 37 weeks of pregnancy), serious health complications and, in the worst cases, the death of a mother or baby. 

UPDATE Norwood: Four Injured in Dekalb Ave Fire in Building with $36K+ Penalties Due

Four people incurred minor injuries following a fire in the Norwood section of The Bronx on Thursday morning, Aug. 20. An FDNY spokesperson said they received a call at 5.49 a.m. for a report of a fire at 3435 Dekalb Avenue between Kossuth Avenue & East 208th Street, on the top floor of one of the structures which makes up three multi-story residential buildings at the location.

Dominican American Chamber of Commerce Hosts “The Reset 2026” Conference at Lehman College

The Dominican American Chamber of Commerce hosted a small business conference entitled “The Reset 2026” at Bedford Park’s Lehman College on Wednesday, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  According to organizers of the event, the aim was to connect Bronx and citywide small business owners with government, academic, and community partners to access resources for business growth.
