Free NYNJ Work Cup Fan Events Coming to Every Borough

Organizers behind this summer’s FIFA World Cup 2026™ say fans won’t necessarily need a ticket to the NYNJ Stadium, where eight matches will be played over the course of the tournament, to feel the energy. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, and the FIFA World Cup 2026™ NYNJ Host Committee announced April 27 during a press conference on Staten Island that they are partnering to bring free, official NYNJ fan events across all five New York City boroughs throughout the course of the World Cup tournament.

The sound of clapping echoed through St. Peter the Apostle Greek Orthodox Church in Kingsbridge on Thursday, April 16, as rows of Greek American families turned their attention to a troupe of young dancers. Hours after Connecticut police announced the arrests of two additional suspects sought in connection with the triple Kingsbridge shooting at West 238th Street and Broadway on Feb. 11, that resulted in the death of 16-year-old Christopher Redding, the young teen’s father, Bryan Corley, said he was elated that three of the four suspects are now in custody.
