Norwood News spoke to voters in and around Bronx Community District 7 in the North Bronx on Election Day to ask for their reflections and views on the primaries on June 23. We first spoke to some voters in the vicinity of Kingsbridge Road and Jerome Avenue in Kingsbridge Heights section close to P.S. 86 and P.S. 340 polling stations.

Local voters will no doubt be aware of a growing progressive Democratic movement in the Northwest Bronx, and in The Bronx generally, as in much of New York City over the past several years. UPDATE Norwood: Armed Man Holds Police, Community at Bay in 4-Hour Stand Off

Police said a 40-year-old man held police at bay for more than 4 hours during an armed stand off in Norwood on Tuesday, June 16. Residents say that East Mosholu Parkway was shut down to vehicular and pedestrian traffic from Bainbridge Avenue to Webster Avenue for the duration of the stand off.
