Belmont: Vigil Held for Victims of Fatal Fire at 660 East 187th Street

Residents of Belmont held a vigil outside Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on East 187th Street on Friday evening, April 24, to pray for the two deceased victims who were tragically killed in the 5-alarm fire in Belmont on April 21, as well as for their families and other residents displaced following the blaze.

Bronx Man Indicated for Assaulting Two FDNY EMTs Responding to Assist Him

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced Wednesday, June 3, that a Bronx man has been indicted for assault for allegedly attacking two FDNY emergency medical service technicians (EMTs) who responded to assist him in the University Heights section of The Bronx earlier this year.

UPDATE Fordham Manor: Funeral Held for Liam, Isis & Oseas Parks Who Died in Bainbridge Ave Fire

The first day of the joint funeral for Liam Gazzo Harris Parks, 1, his older sister, Isis Gabriela Centeno Parks, 6, and Liam’s older brother and twin to Isis, Oseas Gael Centeno Parks, 6, was held in the Mott Haven section of The Bronx on Tuesday, May 26. As reported, all three children tragically died following a residential fire in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx on Monday, May 11. Meanwhile a GoFundMe page has been set up to help fund the cost of the funeral and other expenses.

Mother’s Day Celebrated in Norwood

Moms from across the borough were recognized during a Mother’s Day celebration and Karaoke event in Norwood on Sunday, May 10, sponsored by the Jerome Gun Hill Business Improvement District (BID). Heather “Speakeasy” Guerino of the Speakeasy Feather Club served as host.
