A 44-year-old woman was hospitalized but is expected to survive after she was shot in the Fordham Heights section of The Bronx on Saturday evening, July 25, police said.

A police spokeswoman said officers from the 46th Precinct received a call at 7.57 p.m. for a report of the shooting at East 187th Street and Webster Avenue, close to the Belmont section of The Bronx and that the woman was found shot in the leg.
She was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital and is reportedly stable.
