Eric Dinowitz’s New Bill Aims to Ease Affordable Housing Application Process

Democratic Councilman Eric Dinowitz (C.D. 11) introduced a new bill on Wednesday, Nov. 12, during the New York City Council stated meeting, designed to “vastly improve” the application process for so-called “affordable” housing units made available via the housing lottery system managed by NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD) through its online “Housing Connect” portal.

The Office of City Councilman Eric Dinowitz (C.D. 11) has confirmed that the MTA has committed to restoring the flagpole located next to Woodlawn subway station, the last stop on the 4 train. The flagpole, which was erected in the early ‘70s according to former Bronx resident and now Yonkers-based U.S. Navy Veteran Thomas Moore, had fallen into disrepair, is extremely rusty, and appears to be not so secure.

The Bronx County Historical Society (BCHS) and The Fox and King, an artist development, booking and media agency located in The Bronx, has announced a very special pop-up exhibit as part of the “Uptown Rumble: Heavy Music in The Bronx” series live at The Bronx Brewery. The joint collaboration will explore the rich history of heavy metal and hardcore punk music in The Bronx, while also celebrating The Fox and King’s 14th anniversary.
