Soundview: Woman Arrested & Charged in 2022 Hit & Run Killing Cyclist

Police announced on Friday, Feb. 23, that a 28-year-old woman from the Unionport section of The Bronx has been arrested following a 2022 “hit & run” collision in the Soundview section of The Bronx which resulted in the death of a 21-year-old male cyclist. 

UPDATE Fordham Heights: Three Sought Following Subway Killing on D Train After Dispute

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance identifying three individuals seen in the attached video and photos who are sought in connection to a homicide that occurred aboard the D train at 182nd-183rd Street subway station in Fordham Heights in the early hours of Friday, Feb. 23.  The incident comes on the back of a mass shooting on the 4 line at nearby Mt. Eden subway station earlier this month.

Bronx-Based Citywide Scooter Bandit Network Busted!

Hours after an early morning raid took place on Monday, Feb. 5, on an apartment at the NYCHA Parkside Housing Project in Allerton, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and Police Commissioner Edward Caban joined other members of the NYPD at a joint press conference held at NYPD headquarters at One Police Plaza to announce that nine people had been charged in the context of an elaborate cellphone robbery pattern with international criminal links.

As Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson organized a reflective memorial ceremony on Tuesday, Jan. 9, to honor the 17 people, including 8 children, mostly of Gambian descent, who lost their lives in one of the deadliest fires in New York City’s history two years ago, we take a look back at the various legislative actions taken since then. The wreath-laying ceremony took place at Bronx Borough Hall on the second anniversary of the tragic Twin Parks fire which broke out in the Fordham Heights section of The Bronx on a fateful, cold Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, as snow lay on the roofs of cars and along the street.
