Bedford Park: Lehman College Physics Professor Honored for Defense of Free Thinking with Andrei Sakhorov Prize

The American Physical Society (APS) has awarded Lehman Distinguished Professor of Physics Eugene Chudnovsky its 2024 Andrei Sakharov Prize, which recognizes APS Fellows for their leadership and efforts to uphold human rights.  

Bronx ACS Employee Shirley Williams Honored with Proclamation Marking 70 Years of Service to City of New York

New York City Mayor Eric Adams and New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) Commissioner Jess Dannhauser presented Shirley Williams of ACS, educated in the Belmont section of The Bronx and currently the longest-serving city employee, with a proclamation to mark her 70 years of service to the City of New York on Monday, Nov. 13.

A 30-year-old father of three young children from Norwood has died and one woman is in critical condition following a single-vehicle collision on Jerome Avenue in Norwood in the early hours of Sunday morning, Nov. 12.

Body of Deceased Man, 42, Found in Van Cortlandt Park near Woodlawn Heights
