Youth Cite Benefits of Restorative Justice Program
Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (A.D. 81) presented a check for $250,000 to Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) on Monday, Nov. 6, to support its restorative justice program at the Norwood-based center (MMCC), in the presence of some of the young course participants and course facilitators. Dinowitz said the funding will help support “anti-gun, anti-drug, anti-violence, and anti-gang programs for teens.”

One Year On, Lockett Family Wants Answers
Family and friends of Kyle Lockett, 21, killed in front of a deli on the corner of Gun Hill Road and Hull Avenue in Norwood on Nov. 3, 2022, are calling for answers from authorities on the first anniversary of his death. The 21-year-old died after a police-involved shooting which followed a separate, armed altercation inside the deli with Ajamu Demmerle, 29, during which Lockett was stabbed and Demmerle was also injured.
