Congressman Ritchie Torres (NY-15) announced $18,171,279 in federal funding for community projects across New York’s 15th Congressional District on Thursday, March 21. The funding, which his office said was secured through the Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations process, will support a range of initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, expanding access to healthcare, and enhancing educational opportunities for constituents.

Following the discovery on Saturday of human remains on the elevated subway tracks between two Bronx subway stations serving the 4 line in the Concourse section of the borough, passengers were left feeling exasperated over the holiday weekend while the sole central north-south subway service was temporarily suspended.

Ritchie Torres (NY-15) has awarded $800,000 in community project funding to New York Sun Works, a local nonprofit dedicated to integrating the science of sustainability and climate education into K-12 urban schools. Torres visited X225 Theatre Arts Production Company School in Fordham Heights on Monday, Oct. 30, to see their hydroponic program in action and to formally make the check presentation in a classroom dedicated to the program.
