UPDATE “Who’s Armory? Our Armory!” Deal Struck on Kingsbridge Armory Redevelopment Ownership

The Northwest Bronx Community & Clergy Coalition (NWBCCC), and 8th Regiment Partners, the winning bidder selected by NYC Economic Development Corporation (EDC) to lead the latest redevelopment project for the long-vacant, City-owned Kingsbridge Armory, joined EDC, labor unions, and elected officials at the Armory on Tuesday, June 3, to announce details of a new community benefits agreement (CBA) negotiated in the context of that latest redevelopment plan. 

Bedford Park: Bronx Victory Memorial Marks 100 Years

Bronx Community Board 7 (CB7) and community partners gathered on Sunday, May 18, in advance of Memorial Day, May 26, for an early centennial celebration of the Bronx Victory Memorial, located on Mosholu Parkway in Bedford Park. The memorial was first unveiled 100 years ago on Nov. 11, 1925.

Bronx Week 2025 Concludes in Bedford Park

Bronx Week 2025 concluded on Sunday, May 18, on Mosholu Parkway in Bedford Park with the annual parade, street activities, and concert finale. Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson hosted the lively musical celebration, which featured performances by TKA, Eddie Montalvo, Los Hermanos Morenos, and La Insuperable.

National Restaurant & Coffee Shop Closes after 43 Years

The National Restaurant & Coffee Shop, located at 8 Bedford Park Blvd in Bedford Park has shuttered according to a notice seen by Norwood News in its window on May 27, and as previously advised by Norwood resident and nearby Lehman College Professor Eileen Markey.
