Bedford Park: Over 13 Pounds of Heroin/Fentanyl Seized at Drug Packaging Mill

Two men were arrested in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx in connection with a large-scale heroin/fentanyl packaging and distribution operation, according to an announcement by City prosecutors on Thursday, Aug. 4. A stash of approximately 6 kilograms of narcotics (over 13 pounds), with a street value of at least $1.8 million, was intercepted during a short-term investigation, prosecutors said.   The drugs were allegedly destined for distribution throughout New York City and Massachusetts. Missing Girl, 17, Likely Victim of Sex Trafficking, Located in Wakefield Motel

Heat Advisory in Effect from Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. to Aug. 5 at 8 p.m., Highs of 100 Degrees Possible

UPDATE NWS Issues Thunderstorm Warning & Flood Advisory for Monday, July 25, until 8 p.m.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for July 25 until 1.15 p.m. for The Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens in New York, and for Essex, Southern Bergen, Northern Union, Eastern Passaic, and Hudson Counties in New Jersey. It has also issued a flood advisory which is in effect until 8 p.m.   NWS officials said at 12.25 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over East Hanover, or near Caldwell, moving east at 35 mph. There is an expected hazard of 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail of 0.75 inches, according to the NWS radar.

Search for Group following Bronx Robbery Pattern in North Bronx

UPDATE Norwood: Missing 12-Year-Old Boy Found

The NYPD said a 12-year-old boy reported missing in Norwood has been found.   Prior to being located, police said the boy had last been seen on July 16 at 10.30 p.m. in the vicinity of Bainbridge Avenue and East 207th Street in Norwood. On Sunday, July 24, police confirmed he had been found.
