New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced Saturday, July 26, a new $1 million investment in Animal Care Centers of New York City (ACC) to increase capacity to better care for the animal shelter populations in Manhattan and Queens and improve shelter conditions by supporting the hiring and training of 14 additional staff for those locations.

UPDATE Convicted Felon Further Convicted of Walking into Federal Courthouse with 18 Rounds of Ammunition
Federal prosecutors announced Friday, July 25, that Jonathan Banyan, 39, of Brooklyn, a convicted felon, was further convicted on Thursday, July 24, for entering a federal courthouse in lower Manhattan earlier this year while in possession of 18 rounds of ammunition.
The news comes amid increasingly frequent media reports of various disputes taking place with officials at various Manhattan courthouses.

On a glorious summer’s day, in an atmosphere infused with joy and laughter, family, friends, elected officials, and numerous colleagues of the late Sandra Pabon, a former NYPD chaplain and Democratic state committeewoman for A.D. 80, gathered together on her birthday, Saturday, July 19, for a street co-naming ceremony in her memory at the corner of East 204th Street and Hull Avenue in Norwood, close to her former home.
