Bronx Man Gets 10 Years to Life for Killing 11-Year-Old Kyhara Tay in Foxhurst in 2022
Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced Wednesday, April 23, that Bronx man Matthew Godwin, 18, was sentenced to 10 years to life in prison for second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 11-year-old innocent bystander, Kyhara Tay, in May 2022 in the Foxhurst section of The Bronx, as reported.

The Sisters have owned the property on which the school is built since 1947, while Bally’s Foundation, a charitable nonprofit organization, is linked to Bally’s Corporation, the operator of Bally’s Golf Links in Throggs Neck’s Ferry Point, the site of a planned casino.

A community has been left reeling in shock upon hearing that a 38-year-old mother and her 8-year-old son were found deceased inside their home in the Wakefield section of The Bronx. Police confirmed discovering the bodies inside the location, along with a 4-year-old girl who was alive. Neighbors said the little girl was the woman’s younger daughter and that she has a teenage sister.

As Bronxites remain on edge amid news of ongoing deportations, including those of some on working visas, ICE officials now confirm that an “alien” with a criminal record was arrested at gunpoint in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx on Tuesday afternoon, April 15. When asked, an NYPD spokesperson said the department had no arrest on file for the location in question.
Norwood: Kings College School Gets $1M for New Cafeteria
Students at Norwood’s P.S. 94 Kings College School got a special visit by City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams (C.D. 28) on Thursday, March 27, along with the Schools Superintendent for School District 10, Roberto Hernandez, as they joined local, Democratic, City Council Member Eric Dinowitz (C.D. 11) for the presentation of a check for $1 million to renovate the school’s cafeteria.
