UPDATE Norwood: Water Main Burst Causes Major Flooding on Webster Avenue
An apparent burst to a water mains pipe caused major flooding and havoc to both residents and local businesses in the vicinity of Webster Avenue, East 201st Street, Mosholu Parkway South, and Bedford Park Boulevard in Norwood / Bedford Park on Monday night, Dec. 16, according to eyewitness accounts. Several cars in the area were seen semi-submerged in water amid the flooding.

Fordham Manor: Man Charged for Bringing Loaded Machine Gun into Subway Released on Bail
Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Tuesday, Dec. 10, that the Bronx man who was arrested for bringing a loaded machine gun into Kingsbridge Road subway station on Election Day, Nov. 5, has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon and additional charges. As reported, the man was caught by police with an assault-style rifle and a large-capacity magazine in his backpack inside the station.

New Labor Agreement Hopeful Sign for Kingsbridge Armory?
When New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced on Nov. 21 that two Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) had been secured with the New York City Building & Construction Trades Council (BCTC) for various major City development projects, the news garnered positive feedback from Sandra Lobo, executive director of the Northwest Bronx Community & Clergy Coalition (NWBCCC). Lobo is a co-chair of the “Together for Kingsbridge” visioning process and coalition behind the redevelopment of the City-owned Kingsbridge Armory.
Fordham Manor: Man Stable after Afternoon Stabbing on Fordham Road
A 33-year-old man is in stable condition after a non-fatal stabbing took place in Fordham Manor. Police said they received a call at 2.37 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, for reports of a stabbing at 201 East Fordham Road at the Grand Concourse [a Chick-fil-A restaurant]. They said the victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition and remained uncooperative when questioned about the incident.
Former Bronx NYCHA Super Convicted of Bribery and Extortion Offenses at Trial
In the second trial following a 70-person takedown in February 2024 and the largest single day bribery/extortion case in federal history, Bronx man, Hector Colon, a former New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) superintendent, was convicted on Friday, Nov. 22, of bribery and extortion for accepting cash from NYCHA contractors in exchange for awarding contracts.
