Nancy Pelosi Endorses Ritchie Torres for Reelection to Congress

Congressman Ritchie Torres (NY-15) announced Monday, March 23, that he has received the endorsement of Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (CA-11) in his bid to get reelected to Congress. As reported, the congressman recently hosted Pelosi at the New York Botanical Garden for a Women’s History Month celebration. 

UPDATE Black History Month Celebrated at Jacobi & North Central Bronx

NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi | North Central Bronx celebrated Black History Month with two separate events last month. Jacobi held a celebration on Thursday, Feb. 26 in Jacobi Hospital’s Atrium, while North Central Bronx marked the occasion on Feb. 18, coinciding with the unveiling of a new upgraded MRI screening machine.

UPDATE Lawyers Announce Release of Marble Hill Student Dylan Contreras from ICE Detention 

Lawyers for detained Marble Hill high school student Dylan Josue Lopez Contreras said Wednesday, March 18, that the student has been released from Moshannon Valley Processing Center, the Pennsylvania facility run by the U.S. Department of Immigration, Customs & Enforcement (ICE), where they said he had been “unjustly imprisoned for nearly 10 months.” The announcement of his release follows Dylan’s highly publicized courthouse arrest outside a scheduled immigration hearing at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan last May, as reported.
