Hip Hop Fever Returns to Lehman Center for the Performing Arts on May 18

Following last year’s successful Hip Hop Fever concert at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, to mark the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop, 50 years after the Hip Hop musical genre was born in the neighborhoods of the South Bronx in the early 1970s, “Hip Hop Fever” is back!

South Bronx: Gibson Delivers 2nd State of the Borough Address at Cardinal Hayes High School

Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson delivered her 2nd Annual State of the Borough Address at Cardinal Hayes High School in the auditorium named after Bronx legend and Bronx Walk of Fame inductee Regis Philbin, on April 18, 2024. The borough president outlined major accomplishments that include an investment of over $35 million in education and over $8.9 million in capital allocations to public and private health facilities. 

Formerly Incarcerated Bronx Singer Releases Album

The Bronx R&B and Soul singer, who goes by the name, Ms. Seeley, whose legal name is Valerie Seeley, released a captivating and impactful, five-track EP called “SIGS On Seeley St.” on March 19. The album details the artist’s complex life journey, diving into various topics like surviving domestic violence, her 19-year prison sentence, the death of her 26-year-old son, and womanhood.
