Inquiring Photographer: Thoughts on Loud Music and Partying in Van Cortlandt Park
This week, we asked residents living in the vicinity of Jerome Avenue and East Gun Hill Road in Norwood, Woodlawn Heights, Van Cortlandt Park South, and Broadway if they have been bothered recently by loud music and partying in Van Cortlandt Park, since it tends to get worse in summer. Only residents around Van Cortlandt Village were willing to speak on the record.

The latter was organized to oppose Democratic mayoral candidate and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Democratic mayoral candidate and City Comptroller Brad Lander attended a Meet & Greet event in Norwood on Monday, June 16, as early voting was in full swing. The event was organized by former City Limits Editor Jarrett Murphy who, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, opted for a career change and is now a pediatric ER nurse.

After a 5-alarm fire ripped through a two-family wooden home located at 2462 Devoe Terrace in Fordham Manor on Sunday evening, June 22, injuring 15 people, including FDNY and EMS personnel, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Fire Commissioner Ben Tucker, Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Kaz Daughtry and other FDNY officials gathered for a press conference on Monday afternoon, June 23, outside the ruins of the building to give a further update on the blaze and on the investigation into its cause.
Nineteen Alleged Gang Members Charged in 12 Shootings, including Murder & Wounding of 3 Bystanders
Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark, NYC Mayor Eric Adams, and NYC Police Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch announced on June 23 that 19 alleged gang members and associates have been indicted for a murder and a dozen shootings that wounded three bystanders and terrorized residents in Claremont, Belmont, and other Bronx neighborhoods.

City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, a Democratic mayoral candidate, along with her colleague, “Jack,” from the city council finance team, paid a visit to Tracey Towers in Bedford Park at the end of April, accompanied by local Councilman Eric Dinowitz (C.D. 11), to assess the structural needs of the 40-floor Mitchell Lama housing complex, and to hear from its many residents.
