UPDATE Mt. Hope: Police Launch Murder Investigation following Fatal Stabbing of 36-Year-Old Man

Police have launched a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of a 36-year-old man in the Mt. Hope section of The Bronx. An NYPD spokesperson said that on Tuesday, Dec. 24, (Christmas Eve) at around 11.43 a.m., police from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a person who had been stabbed in the vicinity of East Tremont Avenue and Morris Avenue.

The Bronx Opera presents two performances of the beloved family opera “Hansel and Gretel” by Engelbert Humperdinck on Friday, Jan. 31, at 7.30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 2, at 2.30 p.m. at Lehman College’s Lovinger Theater, located at 250 Bedford Park Blvd. West in The Bronx. The artistic director of the Bronx Opera is Ben Spierman and the conductor is Michael Spierman.

NY Lottery: One Top-Prize Winning Ticket Sold in The Bronx

The New York Lottery announced one top-prize winning ticket was sold in The Bronx in the Dec. 21 TAKE 5 midday drawing. They said the ticket, worth $18,873.50, was sold at Karma Liquors Inc., located at 1004 Morris Park Avenue in the Morris Park section of the borough.
