Ischia Bravo Sworn in as First Woman and First Latina to Serve as Bronx County Clerk

Sean Ebony Coleman Leads the Way Serving the Bronx’s LGBTQ Community

  To mark Black History Month, we’re spotlighting the history and contribution of members of the Black community in The Bronx who are positively impacting the lives of others.   In the early 1980s, Sean Ebony Coleman didn’t see much empathy for a community that was being ravaged by AIDS. “A lot of my friends were victims of the HIV-AIDS epidemic, so we were watching a bunch of our friends die [and we were] trying to figure out what we could do better,” Coleman said in an interview with Norwood News. Off-Duty NYPD Lieutenant Arrested in The Bronx on DUI Charge

  An off-duty cop was arrested in The Bronx on Monday on a DUI charge, police said.   Police said that on Monday, Feb. 20, at around 8.46 a.m. Kenneth McNair, 43, an NYPD lieutenant assigned to Transit District 4, was arrested and charged in the 48th Precinct, which covers the neighborhoods of Belmont, East Tremont, and West Farms. Wakefield: Renderings Revealed for New Residential Structure at 4427 White Plains Road

SKF Development has revealed the first renderings of 4427 White Plains Road, a new, seven-story residential building planned for the Wakefield section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY.   Designed by Badaly Architects, the building will comprise just under 40,000 square feet of residential space, 1,383 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a 188-square-foot community facility. Renderings of the building depict a simple brick façade that transitions from dark gray to red with decorative white cornices.
