UPDATE South Bronx: Two Injured, One Critical following Scooter / MTA Bus Crash

A 58-year-old scooter driver is in critical condition in hospital and a second 60-year-old male scooter driver was also injured after a collision in the South Bronx involving two scooters and an MTA bus on the morning of Juneteenth, June 19.   An NYPD spokeswoman said the collision occurred at 10.28 a.m. when 58-year-old male scooter driver and and a 60-year-old male scooter driver were both traveling southbound on Third Avenue [between E 149th Street and Westchester Avenue]. “Both of the scooters collided with each other, and as a result, one of the scooters wound up colliding with an MTA

Bronx Woman & Teen Son Charged with Murder of her 7-Year-Old Daughter Julissia Batties

  Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on June 29 that a Bronx woman and her 17-year-old son were charged with murder, manslaughter and additional charges in the August 2021 death of the woman’s seven-year-old daughter, Julissia Batties.   In the context of the announcement, Clark said, “A woman and her teenage son caused the death of her innocent, defenseless seven-year-old daughter, Julissia, in their Bronx home. UPDATE 12-Year-Old Woodstock Girl Reported Missing for a 2nd time in Recent Months Found Safe

The NYPD confirmed on Thursday, Nov. 18, that a 12-year-old girl from Woodstock who was reported missing in November for the second time in a few months has been found safe.   It was reported to police that, prior to being found, Krystal Crespo, 12, of East 152nd Street had last been seen on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at approximately 5.35 p.m. at her home. The NYPD has confirmed that a 12-year-old girl who had been reported missing in the Woodstock section of the Bronx, located in the 40th precinct, has been found.   It had been reported to police that Krystal Crespo of Woodstock had last been seen on Monday, Sept. 27, at approximately 7.30 p.m., inside her home.   A reader reached out to the Norwood News on Oct. 29 to confirm Krystal had been found. Mott Haven: 7-Year-Old Girl’s Death Classified a Homicide

Police have classified the recent death of a 7-year-old girl in Mott Haven as a homicide.   On Tuesday, August 10, at approximately 8.06 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an unconscious female inside an apartment at an Alexander Avenue residential building in Mott Haven, located in the 40th precinct, and also in Police Service Area (PSA) 7 which serves NYCHA housing in the 40th and 42nd precincts.   Upon arrival, responding officers encountered EMS personnel providing emergency care to an unconscious 7-year-old girl.
