The NYPD has opened a homicide investigation following the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old man in Crotona, police said. On Monday, Dec. 26, at around 4.05 a.m. at East Tremont Avenue and Marmion Avenue, police said they had a pick-up regarding a man who was shot in the area. “Police observed a 26-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso,” an NYPD spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported the male to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.” There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing. It was reported to police that Saniyah Roberts of 4426 Edson Avenue, Bronx, NY was last seen on Friday, Dec. 23, at around 7 a.m., leaving her home. Amid the winter storm, the NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) is reminding parents and caregivers with infants about the ways to keep their children safe while sleeping. Officials said there is serious danger associated with babies less than a year-old sleeping with parents in adult beds, or sleeping with blankets or quilts, which can create a risk of suffocation. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a coastal flood warning which is in effect until Friday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m., and a wind advisory which is in effect until 10 p.m. on Friday.
