Congressman Ritchie Torres (NY-15) joined City fire officials and local elected leaders in Fordham Heights on Tuesday, March 7, to announce new federal legislation mandating consumer product safety standards for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the High Rise Concrete Carpenters of New York City will conduct a recruitment drive from April 12 through November 8, 2023 for 100 Carpenter apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced on Monday, March 13. The NYPD is seeking the public’s help locating a 16-year-old male youth reported missing from Bedford Park. It was reported to police that Arvin Alcatara, 16, from 2980 Valentine Avenue, was last seen on Friday, March 10, at around 4 p.m. inside his home. The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached screenshot and video who is sought for questioning regarding an assault that occurred in Wakefield.
