El Parrandón de la Gran Manzana to Perform at Lehman Center for the Performing Arts

Lehman Center for the Performing Arts presents El Parrandón de la Gran Manzana on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 8 8 p.m. The show features Víctor Roque, Henry Hierro, Pablo Martinez, Willie Gomez, Victor Brito, Tony Valdez, with special guests, Grupo d’Ahora, and the great salsa showman and Lehman Center favorite, José Alberto aka “El Canario.” This historic reunion of the original members of La Gran Manzana will be a one-of-a kind concert at Lehman Center, a celebration welcoming in the Christmas season.   The merengue band, La Grand Manzana, was founded in 1982 by members Victor Roque and Henry Hierro.

Yonkers Teenager Charged in Shooting of 15-Year-Old

Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah announced on Tuesday, Nov. 21, that Yonkers resident, Joseph Tejera, 19, was charged in connection with the October 2022 shooting of a 15-year-old in the City of Yonkers. The NYPD have arrested a man in connection to the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old male driver, shot on the Major Deegan Expressway on Monday evening, Nov. 21. $3 Million for Montefiore to Engage Fathers, Improve Child Welfare among Families at Risk of Substance Abuse

The Administration for Children and Families, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has awarded researchers at Montefiore Health System a $3 million grant to improve the well-being of families, by helping fathers with substance use disorders.
