UPDATE ELECTIONS 2023: Unofficial Results of Bronx Primary Races on Election Night & Ranked Choice

After the polls closed on Tuesday, June 27, NYC Board of Elections released the initial, unofficial results of the primary elections which took place that day, based on a percentage of returned poll site scanners.   The initial results cover both early votes and election day votes. Absentee and overseas ballots still have to be counted, as do the remaining scanners. Below is a summary of the unofficial results for The Bronx. Fordham Manor: Police Appeal for Help Locating Missing 15-Year-Old Girl

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating a 15-year-old girl reporting missing from Fordham Manor. Police said that Khaidley Rodriguez of 2687 Heath Avenue was last seen on June 17, at around 11 p.m., leaving her home. They said she is described as female, is around 5 feet, 5 inches in height, is Black Hispanic, weighs around 120 pounds, and has brown eyes and long brown hair. UPDATE University Heights: 12-Year-Old Boy Reported Missing Safely Located

The NYPD said a 12-year-old boy reported missing from University Heights has been safely located.   Prior to being located, police had said that Ruben Rodriguez, 12, had last been seen on Friday, June 23, at around 7 a.m., leaving his home. They said he was described as male, around 4 feet, 9 inches tall, weighed around 125 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair. Prior to being located, they said he had last been seen wearing black pants and a white shirt.    

New Bronx Research Shows Poor Air Quality Leads to Longer Hospital Stays for Children with Asthma

  Children with asthma spend more time in the hospital when there is a greater amount of “particulate matter” (PM 2.5) i.e. tiny pieces of solids or liquids, and Ozone (O₃), a colorless gas, in the air, according to a new study by researchers at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) in Norwood. Bronx Couple Charged with Imprisoning & Endangering Two Girls Aged 3 and 4 Years Old

  Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Monday, June 26, that a Bronx woman and her boyfriend have been charged with what was described as the horrific neglect of the woman’s two young daughters, who were found by police locked in a feces-dotted room, naked and bruised, and eating bits of a foam mattress.   Clark said, “The defendants allegedly kept these little girls in a house of horrors.
