FDNY: Area Secured following Woodlawn Heights Fire on Transformer Pole

An apparent, outdoor electrical fire broke out on Monday evening, Oct. 24, in the Woodlawn Heights section of The Bronx.   The FDNY said the incident has since been closed out and the cause is being investigated. According to the FDNY, the incident was reported at 6:26 p.m. on Monday at 4213 Peters Place and originated on a transformer atop an electrical pole.   An FDNY spokesperson said the scene was secured, handed over to Con Edison and closed out at 8.01 p.m. on Monday evening. Olinville: 60-Year-Old Pedestrian Critical following Road Accident

A 60-year-old male pedestrian remains hospitalized and in critical condition following a road accident in Olinville, just northwest of Gun Hill Houses, police said.   On Friday, Oct. 21, at approximately 11.27 p.m., officers from the 47th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian who was struck at the intersection of East Gun Hill Road and White Plains Road.   A police spokesperson said, “Upon arrival, officers observed a 60-year-old male unconscious and unresponsive, lying on the roadway with severe body trauma.” The spokesperson continued, “EMS responded to the location and the victim

Male Pedestrian, 65, Dies following Road Accident on Bronx River Parkway

UPDATE Ten Injured, including Kids & one Senior Citizen, in Foxhurst Police-Involved Road Accident

Ten people have been reported injured following a road accident involving a police vehicle on Thursday, Oct. 6, at around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Westchester Avenue and Hoe Avenue in the Foxhurst section of The Bronx, just southeast of Crotona Park East.   Citizens’ App users shared live footage of cordoned-off streets, a large crowd gathered, and multiple members of the NYPD at the location, in the 41st Precinct, after the incident occurred. Belmont: 67-Year-Old Woman Dies in Scooter Collision

A 67-year-old woman has died following a scooter accident in Belmont, police said.   On Friday, Sept. 23, at around 11.37 a.m., police from the 48th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of East 188th Street and Park Avenue.   “Upon arrival, officers observed a 67-year-old female, e-bike operator, lying on the roadway with trauma to the body,” an NYPD spokesperson said. “EMS responded to the location and transported the aided female to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022.”   Police said that further investigation

Bedford Park: Stolen Car Crashes into Two Parked Vehicles on Jerome Avenue

Police are looking for the driver of a stolen 2005 BMW which plowed into two parked cars on Jerome Avenue in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx. Witnesses told Norwood News the driver of the stolen car was observed exiting it and walking away from the vehicle, before later returning, calmly removing his belongings from its interior and from the trunk, and then disappearing once again before police arrived at the scene.   Upon further investigation, NYPD officials said they learned the same vehicle had been reported stolen in Pennsylvania.
