The New York State Department of Labor announced on Friday, April 29, that the joint apprenticeship and training committee for New York City District Council of Carpenters will conduct a recruitment campaign from June 1, 2022 through May 3, 2023 for 25 carpenter apprentices. Phipps Neighborhoods, a non-profit social service provider in New York City, announced on Monday, April 11, that it is seeking applications for the City’s Department of Youth and Community Development’s Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), which will connect youth from The Bronx and Upper Manhattan with career exploration opportunities and paid work experiences. This year, Phipps Neighborhoods aims to serve 1,000 students with employment opportunities, an increase from its previous record of serving nearly 575 students last year. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) announced on Saturday, April 9, the availability of employment opportunities for the summer recreational season. Individuals looking for seasonal summer employment who enjoy the outdoors are encouraged to learn more about opportunities to work at DEC facilities.
