Building applications have been filed with NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) for a 9-story residential building at 354 East 194th Street in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx, according to reporting by YIMBY. Located between Marion Avenue and Decatur Avenue, the lot is near the Kingsbridge Road subway station, serviced by the B and D trains.

UPDATE Montefiore Nurses Rally to Oppose Planned Cuts
Montefiore Bronx-based nurses held a rally organized by the NYS Nurses Association on Friday, Feb. 28, at 111 East 210th Street in Norwood, outside the private hospital group’s Moses campus. They said their goal was “to save hospital beds and services, and end overcrowding in the emergency departments and hospital floors at Montefiore Moses and Weiler.” The Montefiore Weiler campus is located in Morris Park.

Ocasio-Cortez Introduces Bipartisan Bill to Cap Credit Card Interest Rates at 10%
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14), a Democrat, and Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (FL-13), a Republican representing Florida, introduced legislation that would immediately cap credit card interest rates at 10%. U.S. Senators Bernie Sanders (I-VT), an independent representing Vermont, and Josh Hawley (R-MO), a Republican representing Missouri, introduced companion legislation last month in the Senate.

This week, we asked readers for their opinions on proposed State bill which, if passed, would allow supermarkets to sell wine under a new license which would only be available to full-service grocery stores primarily engaged in the sale of food, which already have a license for off-premises beer sales, and which have a surface area of more than 5,000 sq. ft. Incentives would also be given to supermarkets to sell New York wine.
