Bedford Park: FDNY Says Afternoon Fire Results in No Injuries

A 2-alarm fire in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx on Thursday resulted in no injuries, FDNY officials said.   The blaze broke out on the 1st floor of a residential building at 5 Minerva Place by Jerome Avenue and Creston Avenue, FDNY officials said, adding that they were alerted to the incident at 1.25 p.m. on Thursday, May 25. An FDNY spokesperson said 25 units, comprising 106 firefighters responded to the scene at the 6-story building and the blaze was placed under control at 2.54 p.m. The spokesperson added that the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fordham Manor: Search for Missing 70-Year-Old Woman

The NYPD is seeking the public’s help locating Leone Ultan, 70, who was reported missing from Fordham Manor on Wednesday, May 24.  Police said that Ultan of 2550 Webb Avenue was last seen leaving her home on Thursday, May 4, at around 7.25 p.m. She was described by police as female, has a light complexion and white hair, is around 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs around 105 pounds.
