Douglaston Development is now welcoming the first wave of tenants at 2856 Webster Avenue, a 188-unit affordable housing property in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY. All of the units are reserved for seniors earning up to 50 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI), as reported.

News of a planned, 34,000-seat, temporary cricket stadium in Van Cortlandt Park ahead of the Cricket Men’s World Cup in June 2024 shook the Kingsbridge community to its core when The City media outlet published details on July 15 of the as-yet, tentative plan for the venue. However, with New York City Mayor Eric Adams struggling to cope with the ever-increasing costs of handling the influx of migrants to the city, private funding from entities such as the International Cricket Council (ICC) for such an event would, no doubt, be considered a welcome investment in New York City’s local economy.

The 2nd Bronx Food & Farm Walking Tour of 2023 around the historic Bedford Park and Norwood neighborhoods took place on Saturday, July 22, in conjunction with New York Botanical Garden/Bronx Green-Up, Montefiore Einstein, Friends of Mosholu Parkland, The James Baldwin Outdoor Learning Center, and B Blossom Catering, a plant-based gourmet food company.
