New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), in partnership with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), announced the extension of the public comment period for the draft disadvantaged communities criteria on Thursday, July 7. Belmont: Search for Group following Fatal Shooting of 62-Year-Old Man

Bedford Park: Man, 40, Arrested on Murder Charges following Stabbing of 45-Year-Old Woman

A 40-year-old man has been arrested following the stabbing of a 45-year-old woman in Bedford Park.   On Tuesday, July 5, at around 2.34 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an aided female inside 2860 Grand Concourse in Bedford Park, located in the 52nd Precinct.   Upon arrival, officers observed a 45-year-old woman with a stab wound to her chest, laying on a bed. Bronx Community Charter School held a Juneteenth celebration in the Williamsbridge Oval in Norwood on Monday, June 20, to commemorate what is now an official national holiday. Off-Duty Police Officer Arrested for Criminal Obstruction of Breathing & Unlawful Imprisonment

An off-duty New York City employee has been arrested in the 49th precinct which covers Allerton, Morris Park, Van Nest, Pelham Parkway, Eastchester Gardens, and Pelham Gardens.   On Monday, July 4, at 11.08 p.m., NYPD Police Officer Kelvin White, 43, was arrested while off duty and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and unlawful imprisonment.   White became a police officer in July 2010 and is assigned to the Yankee Stadium detail.
