Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center, a hub for arts education and instruction in the Northeast Bronx, will host a day of celebration, open and free to all with performances, music, and family fun on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Open House Street Festival, now in its fifth year, will usher in the new 2022-2023 season at the center, and the event will include indoor and outdoor activities onsite at Mind-Builders, located at 3415 Olinville Avenue in Olinville. The NYPD said a 55-year-old man has been arrested following an assault outside a restaurant in Fordham Heights. Police said on Friday, Aug. 12, at around 10.45 p.m., cops responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been assaulted in front of the “Fuego Tipico Restaurant” located at 163 East 188th Street. A 59-year-old woman has died following a freak incident during which a tree apparently fell into an occupied swimming pool in Spuyten Duyvil. Dancers aged 10 to 18 are being called upon to join the Juilliard Dance Experience, a full-day, in-person workshop which will give intermediate and advanced dancers the opportunity to experience Juilliard’s dance program, and take technique classes with current faculty and students.
