A female resident of Tracey Towers has died following a reported stabbing at the Jerome Park Mitchel Lama housing complex, police said. The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating the person seen in the attached video and photos who is sought for questioning in connection to an attempted assault that occurred in Edenwald. Last month, New York Blood Center declared a blood emergency. Van Cortlandt Jewish Center (VCJC), in conjunction with the New York Blood Center (NYBC), is hosting an upcoming blood drive to address the shortage. NYBC announced the blood emergency due to an alarming drop in blood donations, according to VCJC. An affordable housing lottery has launched for 35 newly constructed units at The Allerton housing complex, located at 2241 White Plains Road a/k/a 683 Thwaites Place, in the Allerton section of The Bronx, according to NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD). Public defenders, The Legal Aid Society, released a statement on Monday, July 12, in response to an announcement by New York State Court of Appeals chief judge, Janet DiFiore, that she will resign next month after seven years in the role. A 29-year-old man has been arrested following the murder of another man in Fordham Heights. On Wednesday, July 13, at approximately 1.06 a.m., police responded to a 911 call about a person who had been shot in front of 2323 Grand Concourse, located in the 46th Precinct. An NYPD spokesperson said, “Upon arrival, officers observed a 34-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the torso. EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.” The spokesperson added, “There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.”
