University Heights: Man Arrested for Two Separate Unprovoked Assaults on Two People
The NYPD has said they have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection to two assaults which took place on Friday night, Nov. 10, in University Heights. Police had been asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photos who they said was sought in connection to the two unprovoked assaults on two different people.
Norwood: Family of Baby Delilah Hold Memorial Event on Mosholu Parkway
A handful of family members quietly gathered along East Mosholu Parkway North at Decatur Avenue in Norwood on Sunday, Oct. 15, to mourn the passing of Delilah Annabelle Rolon, who police say died days before her second birthday from carbon monoxide poisoning in Syracuse, New York, as recently reported by Norwood News.
Temporary Protected Status (TPS) Re-Registration Period Extended in Some Cases
The Office of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) who represents parts of The Bronx and Queens is reminding Bronxites that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced recently that it is extending the re-registration periods for the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designations of several countries, including Nepal, Nicaragua and Honduras.

To mark the launch of Lung Cancer Awareness Month, which began on Nov. 1, Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center (MECCC) hosted an event at its Moses campus in Norwood, along with a pair of giant, inflatable lungs in efforts to help educate the community about the importance of life-saving lung cancer screening.

UPDATE Norwood Mourns Beloved Resident & Community Activist Lyn Pyle
The local community is mourning the recent death of Norwood resident and community activist Lyn Pyle who died last month at the age of 83. Pyle was a Norwood resident and “Knox Place Legend” according to a flier posted ahead of a memorial service held in her honor on Sunday, Oct. 29, at the COVE, located 3418 Gates Place.
