NYPD officials said a 31-year-old man has been arrested following the fatal stabbing of a second 61-year-old man in Fordham Heights.

A “low-speed” subway derailment involving two Bronx-bound subway trains occurred on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 4, at Manhattan’s 96th Street station, located west of Central Park. The station serves the Bronx-serving 1, 2, and 3 trains. There were no serious injuries, FDNY officials said.

At least three civilians were injured, one seriously, a firefighter suffered a minor injury, and several families are displaced ahead of the new year, after four fires broke out within a 12-hour period across Bedford Park and Kingsbridge Heights at the start of the weekend.
