Pelham Parkway: DOT Launches Electric Vehicle Fast-Charging Station

NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez announced an expansion on Wednesday, Oct. 15, of the city’s network of public electric vehicle (EV) fast chargers with the opening of a new, public fast charging station at DOT’s White Plains Road municipal parking field in the Pelham Parkway / Bronx Park East section of the Bronx.

UPDATE Section 8 Payments Delayed; NYCHA Shares Update on Status

Officials from the New York Apartment Association (NYAA) said they were informed by NYCHA officials earlier this month that Section 8 voucher payments would be delayed due to complications associated with the recent federal government shutdown. NYAA  officials said they were monitoring the situation closely and would provide additional information to members as it became available. NYCHA provided an update on the situation on Saturday, Dec. 6. 

Thanksgiving Celebrated Across The Bronx

Local elected officials, nonprofits, food pantries, and regular individuals donated even more cash, food and time than usual this year to host various turkey giveaways and Thanksgiving dinners for Bronxites following the recent federal government shutdown which, as reported, had a marked impact on food insecurity in the borough.
