Montefiore Nurses Seek Arbitration following Return after Strike

Following the longest nurses strike in New York City history, which lasted 5 weeks between January and February this year, New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) said they are pursing arbitration with the management team of Montefiore Health System following allegations of intimidation against some Montefiore nurses since their return to work on Feb. 14, after a deal was struck between the parties ending the strike.  

Bronx Week 2026 Paused Amid Economic Uncertainty

Borough President Vanessa Gibson announced Wednesday, March 4, that Bronx Week 2026 has been paused amid economic uncertainty. The annual event is a nearly month-long, annual celebration of the borough. 

UPDATE Bronx Daycare Provider & Husband Get 25 Years to Life for Murder of Nicholas Feliz Dominici in Fentanyl Poisoning Case

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced Wednesday, March 4, that the operator of a Bronx home daycare center and her husband were each sentenced to 25 years to life in prison by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Margaret Clancy for the accidental death due to fentanyl poisoning of 22-month-old Nicholas Feliz Domenici on Sept. 15, 2023, and for the exposure of three other children to fentanyl who survived the poisoning.
