New Unity Democratic Club Launches in The Bronx

Recently elected Democratic district leaders for the 81st assembly district, Abigail Martin and Ramdat Singh, announced the formation of the Unity Democratic Club at a launch event held at The Bronx Public eatery on West 231st Street in Kingsbridge Heights on Oct. 3. Former Bronx High School Teacher Gets 15 Years for Possession of Child Pornography

  A 40-year-old Bronx man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for enticing minor children to send him nude and sexually explicit photographs and videos of themselves over the internet. On April 5 of this year, Jonathan Skolnick, 40, of The Bronx, pled guilty before U.S. Judge Colleen McMahon, who imposed the sentence. Ischia Bravo, district manager for Bronx Community Board 7 (CB7), has been appointed as the county clerk for Bronx County at the Supreme Court of the State of New York Appellate Division, First Judicial Department, effective Jan. 2, 2023.   The news was announced in a press release on Wednesday, Oct. 19, by presiding Justice Rolando T. UPDATE Olinville: Man Arrested following Fatal Shooting of 40-Year-Old Man

A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Olinville in October. Police from the 47th Precinct said that on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at around 3.34 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot in the vicinity of East 216th Street and White Plains Road.   “Upon arrival, officers observed a 40-year-old male with gunshot wounds to the chest, in front of 3734 White Plains Road,” a police spokesperson said. “EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to NYC Heath & Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced deceased.”
