UPDATE Some Residents in Norwood and Olinville Have No Landline Phone Service Since April 22

After some Bronx residents living in ZIP code NY 10467, which broadly covers the Norwood and Olinville neighborhoods, officially reported a loss of landline phone service since Thursday, April 24, Verizon has confirmed to Norwood News that there was damage to some equipment due to vandalism and they are working to fix the issue as soon as possible. One female elderly resident who lives on Dekalb Avenue by East 212th Street who happens to have a cell phone as a back-up said she recently spoke with Verizon and said her service actually stopped April 22.

NY Lottery: Top-Prize Winning TAKE-5 Ticket Sold in The Bronx

The New York Lottery announced Sunday, April 27, that there was one top-prize winning ticket sold for the April 26 TAKE 5 evening drawing. The ticket was sold at Shree Naanshardawa Convenience store, located at 113 Dreiser Loop in Co-Op City, The Bronx which sold a ticket worth $32,723.50.
