NYS Office of Addiction Services & Support Releases New Cannabis Toolkit

The New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (NYS OASAS) announced on Friday, April 19, the launch of a new Cannabis Toolkit for parents and mentors, designed to offer resources and information about cannabis and how to talk to young people about the risks of underage cannabis use and the impact it can have. The free toolkit is available in both English and Spanish on the OASAS website.

UPDATE City Council: Commercial Property Owners Not Being Summonsed for Leasing to Unlicensed Smoke Shops

A 2023 City law which prohibits owners of commercial premises from knowingly leasing such commercial premises to, or otherwise allowing the use of such premises by, unlicensed smoke shops went into effect last July but is not being actively implemented, according to the city council.

UPDATE Norwood: Woman & 7 Men Arrested for Alleged Drug, Gun Possession & Child Endangerment

Seven men and one woman were arrested and charged with various offenses including criminal drug and weapon possession, following a police raid on a Hull Avenue home in the Norwood section of the Bronx on Wednesday night, March 27, police said.
