Pelham Parkway Community Groups Unite for Back-to-School Giveaway

The Albanian American Open Hand Association (AAOHA) and The Pelham Parkway Neighborhood Association (PPNA) collaborated with Miriam Quiñones of Miriam Quin Photography on Sunday Aug. 29 at 2134 Barnes Ave in the Bronx, for a back-to-school giveaway.   Around 650 school backpacks filled with school supplies including pencils, notebooks, erasers, folders and more, were handed out to students. Vehicle Fire Reported in Norwood

University Heights: Gunpoint Robbery

  The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the individual seen in the attached video who is sought in connection with a robbery that occurred in University Heights, in the 52nd precinct. Republican mayoral candidate, Curtis Sliwa, was struck by a yellow cab on Friday, Oct. 29 in Manhattan, while rushing to a live radio show at WABC, according to sources from his campaign.   Sliwa went ahead and completed his hour-long scheduled show interview. National Weather Service Issues Wind Advisory Effective from Oct. 29 through Oct. 30

The New York bureau of the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a wind advisory, effective Friday, Oct. 29, from 2 p.m. through Saturday, Oct. 30 at 6 a.m. East winds of between 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph are expected in across New York in Manhattan, Southern Nassau, Staten Island, The Bronx, Northern Nassau, Northern Queens, Southern Queens and Brooklyn.
