Pelham Parkway Community Groups Unite for Back-to-School Giveaway

The Albanian American Open Hand Association (AAOHA) and The Pelham Parkway Neighborhood Association (PPNA) collaborated with Miriam Quiñones of Miriam Quin Photography on Sunday Aug. 29 at 2134 Barnes Ave in the Bronx, for a back-to-school giveaway. Around 650 school backpacks filled with school supplies including pencils, notebooks, erasers, folders and more, were handed out to students. Families with children of all ages lined up around the block on Barnes Avenue to wait their turn for a backpack. The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a person of interest, seen in the attached video, who is wanted for questioning in connection with a robbery pattern traced to the 47th and 50th precincts. The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the individual seen in the attached video who is sought in connection with a robbery that occurred in University Heights, in the 52nd precinct. It was reported to police that on Monday Oct. 25, at approximately 6 p.m., at Five Star Tire Shop located at 2409 Jerome Avenue, two unknown individuals approached two 29-year-old men and displayed a firearm. Republican mayoral candidate, Curtis Sliwa, was struck by a yellow cab on Friday, Oct. 29 in Manhattan, while rushing to a live radio show at WABC, according to sources from his campaign.
