UPDATE Bally’s, Nuns & Preston Strike Deal on JLo’s Former H.S. after AG Hearing; Other Catholic Schools Not So Lucky

Maybe it was divine intervention but a day after the announcement that His Holiness, Pope Francis had died, in a mayor victory for the Throggs Neck Catholic community in the East Bronx, Preston High School, the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, and Bally’s Foundation of North America announced on Tuesday, April 8, that the parties had finalized an agreement that will ensure Preston High School remains open and thriving for years to come. The Sisters have owned the property on which the school is built since 1947, while Bally’s Foundation, a charitable nonprofit organization, is linked to Bally’s Corporation, the operator of Bally’s Golf Links in Throggs Neck’s Ferry Point, the site of a planned casino.

NY Lottery: Top-Prize Winning TAKE-5 Ticket Sold in The Bronx

The New York Lottery announced Sunday, April 20, that one top-prize winning ticket was sold for the April 19th TAKE-5 midday drawing. Lottery officials said the ticket was sold at 912 Jairo Deli Grocery Corp, located at 912 Soundview Avenue in The Bronx, and was worth $18,931.

Fordham Manor: Man Sought for Theft Aboard Bx12

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying and locating the person seen in the attached photo who they say is sought for questioning in connection to a theft that occurred aboard an MTA bus in Fordham Manor. 

UPDATE Fordham Heights: Man Arrested following Attempted Rape

The NYPD said they have made an arrest in the case of an attempted rape that occurred in Fordham Heights. They had been searching for the person seen in the attached photo who they said had been sought for questioning in connection to the incident. 

NY Lottery: Take-5 Top-Prize Ticket Sold in The Bronx

The New York Lottery announced that there were multiple top-prize winning tickets sold for the Friday, April 18, TAKE 5 midday drawing. The tickets were sold at Webster Meat Farm, located at 1170 Webster Avenue in the Morrisania section of The Bronx, which sold one prize-winning ticket worth $9,787.50, and at Mr. Tobacco, located at 17 Singer Lane in Smithtown, NY, which sold one prize-winning ticket worth $9,787.50.

UPDATE Wakefield: Mother and 8-Year-Old Son Found Deceased inside Home & Daughter, 4, Found Alive

A community has been left reeling in shock upon hearing that a 38-year-old mother and her 8-year-old son were found deceased inside their home in the Wakefield section of The Bronx. Police confirmed discovering the bodies inside the location, along with a 4-year-old girl who was alive. Neighbors said the little girl was the woman’s younger daughter and that she has a teenage sister.
