Kingsbridge: Tandem Trailer Stuck under Elevated Subway for Hours

  A tandem tractor-trailer recently got trapped under the elevated subway in Kingsbridge for several hours, as police and fire units blocked off traffic in the area and two dozen MTA employees attempted to free the truck with minimal damage to the subway line.   According to an unnamed MTA official, the incident took place at 10:42 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, at the intersection of Broadway and West 231st Street. Norwood: Two Injured in Motorcycle/Car Collision

A 23-year-old motorcycle driver remains in serious condition and his 23-year-old female passenger was in stable condition after an early morning collision at Jerome Avenue and Bainbridge Avenue in Norwood.   Police say the crash took place at 7:17 a.m. on Monday, June 26, after a 31-year-old man driving a 2003 Toyota attempted to make a U-turn and collided with the motorcycle which was traveling southbound at the time. NYC Emergency Management Advises New Yorkers to Prepare for Severe Thunderstorm on June 26

New York City Emergency Management Department (EMS) issued a travel advisory for Monday afternoon, June 26, through Tuesday, June 27. EMS officials said according to the National Weather Service, New York City may experience scattered showers with the potential for severe thunderstorms starting late afternoon through the evening.   They said the severe thunderstorms may affect the evening’s commute, with rain expected to continue into Tuesday morning. Regular riders of the Bx12 bus who complain that most days the buses are crowded, and that there are not enough of them can look to the latest findings from both the Metropolitan Transportation Administration (MTA) and NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) for confirmation.
