City Racial Justice Commission Discusses Racial Disparities in Health and Mental Health

New York City’s Racial Justice Commission (RJC) hosted a virtual panel entitled, “Overcoming Racial Disparities in Health and Mental Health” earlier this summer to discuss health and persistent racial disparities in health and mental health.   The event, held on July 20, was hosted by commission chair, Jennifer Jones Austin, and was divided into two, hour-long panels, each made up of three expert panelists. Vehicle Fire Reported in Norwood

University Heights: Gunpoint Robbery

  The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the individual seen in the attached video who is sought in connection with a robbery that occurred in University Heights, in the 52nd precinct. National Weather Service Issues Wind Advisory Effective from Oct. 29 through Oct. 30

The New York bureau of the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a wind advisory, effective Friday, Oct. 29, from 2 p.m. through Saturday, Oct. 30 at 6 a.m. East winds of between 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph are expected in across New York in Manhattan, Southern Nassau, Staten Island, The Bronx, Northern Nassau, Northern Queens, Southern Queens and Brooklyn. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Due to recent rainfall and a saturated ground, there may be a few uprooted trees.

A 58-year-old Norwood resident told the Norwood News he was the victim of verbal harassment and an attempted robbery on East Gun Hill Road in the early hours of Thursday, Oct. 14. Hochul Announces Launch of $64.4M Project to Replace Bronx River Parkway Bridge in North Bronx
