A resident of a transitional shelter and supportive housing facility located in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx said a deceased 62-year-old man, who died from a heart attack at the shelter on Dec. 10 and was later removed by emergency services, had earlier reported to staff of chest pains. The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in the attached photos who is sought in connection to an armed robbery that occurred in Kingsbridge Heights. It was reported to police that on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at approximately 7.30 p.m. inside a deli located at 117 West Kingsbridge Road, an 18-year-old male store employee was approached by an unidentified male individual who displayed a gun and stole approximately $2,500 dollars before fleeing on foot. An NYPD spokesperson said on Jan. 11 that a man who had been reported missing from the University Heights section of The Bronx has been found and is safe. The NYPD said a man was fatally shot in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx on Sunday morning. The NYPD said the department has made an arrest in the homicide investigation following the fatal shooting of a man in the Pelham Gardens section of The Bronx. Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, police said on Dec. 29 that Matthew Rushie, 46, of Morgan Avenue, The Bronx was arrested on Friday, Dec. 23, 2022 at 1 p.m. in the 49th Precinct. Police said the body of a man estimated to be between 50 and 60 years of age was removed from Van Cortlandt Park in Norwood on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 17. The discovery was made in the vicinity of Mosholu Parkway North and West Gun Hill Road. The NYPD said on Wednesday, Jan. 11, that a 39-year-old woman who had been reported missing from Fordham Manor has been found. Prior to being located, it was reported on Friday, Dec. 16 to police that Esmeralda Tejada, 39, of Briggs Avenue had last been seen on Thursday, Dec. 15, at approximately 8 a.m. inside her home. She was described at the time as female, around 5 feet, 4 inches tall, Hispanic, weighing around 180 pounds with a heavy build.
