University Heights: Two Sought for Knifepoint Robbery

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the two people seen in the attached video who they said are wanted in connection with a knifepoint robbery that occurred in University Heights. 

Assemblyman Dinowitz Pleased City Council Moving Ahead with Gun Safety Law Similar to His State Law Passed Last Year

Bronx Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (A.D. 81) has said he is pleased that the City Council is moving ahead with gun reform legislation that is similar to a law he sponsored at State level which passed last year. He said earlier this year, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signed into law his bill which requires the posting of notices and handing out of those notices when an individual obtains a gun license. 

UPDATE Funding Boost Helps Food Pantry Continue the Work of Lifting Others Up

A simple sculpture of three people that sits in an upstairs office at Part of the Solution Inc. (POTS) food pantry in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx probably best illustrates the everyday work the nonprofit organization has carried out over 40 years to help countless Bronxites and other New Yorkers. It depicts two people on an elevated surface holding a rope. Further down the side of the sculpture, another person is seen hanging onto the rope and being hoisted to the top by the first two people.
