Bronx H.S. of Science Evacuated after Bomb Threat & after April Bomb Threat Caused 52 Pct Evacuation
The entire student body as well as staff of Bedford Park’s Bronx High School of Science were evacuated from the school building after a bomb threat was discovered on the school’s answering machine on Friday, June 12, according to the NYPD. No device was found following the threat and classes would eventually resume. The hoax comes a little over two months after a similar call was received at the nearby 52nd Precinct stationhouse in Norwood in April.
UPDATE University Heights: Woman 79 Tries to Gather her Groceries after She & a Man Both Get Shot
A 79-year-old woman who was shot on the street in broad daylight in the University Heights section of the Bronx on Wednesday afternoon, June 17, had tried to gather up her scattered groceries, even as emergency personnel were trying to get her into an ambulance and transport her to a local hospital, one witness to the aftermath of the incident said. Another younger man was also shot during the same incident.

UPDATE Five Gangs Charged with Selling Fentanyl in South Bronx Hub Where Overdoses Plague the Community
Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced Monday, June 15, that 32 people, named further below, have been charged in five indictments with flooding the Hub area of the South Bronx with fentanyl, heroin and other narcotics. They said four of the defendants are charged with operating as a major trafficker.
