An ongoing affordable housing lottery, as reported by YIMBY, for units at 3836-3838 Carpenter Avenue, comprising a pair of four-story residential buildings in the Olinville section of The Bronx, will close on Feb. 27, according to City officials. Designed by Badaly Architects, and developed by Aglin Zefi, the structure is made up of 20 residential units. Available on NYC Housing Connect, the online portal of NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD), are six units for residents earning 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $69,429 to $187,330. Parents making their routine trip to pick up their kids from school in Kingsbridge Heights were horrified recently to learn that a 16-year-old male youth had been stabbed. Police said the teen remains in critical condition as police search for the suspect who reportedly plunged a knife into the victim. The envisioning process to decide on the future use of the Kingsbridge Armory, located at Jerome Avenue in Kingsbridge Heights, is continuing, and follows previous updates on the project. Envisioning workshops took place on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, and again on Saturday, Jan. 21, but those involved with the “Together for Kingsbridge” working group as still anxious to hear from more community members about their ideas.
