UPDATE Gas Repairs Underway at Botanical Square after Residents Without Gas Since 2024

After residents of four buildings located at Botanical Square in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx were left without gas for over a year, as reported, when a water main break on nearby Webster Avenue flooded the block and basements of the buildings in December 2024, the property manager and Con Edison both say the required repair work has now been completed at the affected buildings, and gas was due to be turned back on for at least some of the residents on Thursday, Feb. 19. The flooding had destroyed the electrical wiring and Con Edison’s gas meters they said.

UPDATE Belmont: 21-Year-Old Male Shot, One Person Arrested

Police said a young man has been shot in the Belmont section of the Bronx near 663 Crescent Avenue and is likely to survive. However, the address was for a nearby tax business and on arrival in Belmont, Norwood News saw that police had cordoned off a section of nearby Cambreleng Avenue at the intersection of East 187th Street outside Nashley Barbershop, located at 2400 Cambreleng Avenue. 

Fordham Manor: Man Sought for Assault of MTA Bus Driver

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached video who is wanted in connection with an assault of an MTA employee that occurred in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx.
